KIEV – The separatists in eastern Ukraine have announced their intention to evacuate the civilian population of the area to Russia. Denis Pushilin, the ‘head of state’ of the Donetsk People’s Republic, says he has made agreements with Russia about the reception of the evacuees. Women, children and the elderly should be the first to leave the Donbas, said Pushilin. The first buses with evacuees – mainly orphans – left Friday evening.
