In 2022, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, known as the game director for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, announced that he was leaving CD Projekt to start his own studio, Rebel Wolves, where he would start he is developing an action game called Dawnwalker. Since then, we have not heard much about this project, but it seems that the status is now very advanced, to the point that it has been revealed that it already has a publisher for global publication.
And it’s no small partner, as Bandai Namco has agreed to distribute Dawnwalker in digital and physical editions for PC, Xbox and PlayStation in the future. The release window has not been announced at this time.
Dawnwalker will be a darkly narrative open-world action-game set in medieval Europe, with a AAA focus. It’s being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and apparently it’s only the first installment in a series, so they have a lot of faith in the project.
Rebel Wolves Publishing Director Tomasz Tinc said of the new partnership: “Rebel Wolves is a new studio built on a strong foundation: a combination of experience and new energy. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, a company known for its passion for the RPG genre and their willingness to dive into new IPs is the perfect partner for our wolf package They not only share our values, but they also have a strong track record of publishing narrative-driven RPGs.” He added, “We look forward to working with them on the first chapter of a saga Bringing Dawnwalker to players around the world.”
The studio will reveal more details about the project in the coming months.
