New developer Rebel Wolves has officially confirmed on Twitter that its first game is called Dawnwalker.
Along with the announcement, Rebel Wolves also unveiled new art that depicts a swordsman leaping out of the shadows.
We usually don’t comment on rumors – but not this time. Yes, we are indeed working on Dawnwalker!
Rebel Wolves includes many CD Projekt Red veterans, and last week Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz was appointed creative director.
There are very few details about Dawnwalker, and today’s announcement doesn’t confirm anything other than the name.
The developers admit that they usually “don’t comment on rumors,” so fans shouldn’t expect a sudden increase in marketing.
Twitter user Kurakasis has compiled some research on Dawnwalker in December 2023 with additional information.
Dawnwalker is rumored to be an open world dark fantasy RPG.
Last week, Tomashkevich officially announced that the new game “will allow you to diversify the choice and give room for experimentation during repeated playthroughs.”
They also mentioned that the team aims to “create a world you’ll want to explore and become deeply immersed in.” This suggests that the game will most likely be story-driven.
The new wallpaper artwork confirms some previous details and rumors about Dawnwalker. The black and red design is suggestive and hints at supernatural powers. The figure in the wallpaper appears to have clawed hands. Along with the newly confirmed title, this could mean players will be taking on the role of a vampire. The character’s clothing also looks a little older, and he is holding a sword, so the plot could also be historical.
