Saudi Arabia prohibits its citizens from traveling to Indonesia and 15 other countries.
Saudi called the travel ban because of the case Covid-19 which is still considered high in Indonesia.
This was revealed by the Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) of Saudi Arabia at the end of Saturday (21/5).
According to reports Saudi GazetteApart from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia prohibits its citizens from going to Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia and Ethiopia.
Then the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya. Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus and Venezuela.
In response to this, the Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah, said that his party had conveyed to Saudi Arabia to review the policy.
“The conditions in Indonesia are much better, even when compared to some Western countries,” said Faizasyah to CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (23/5).
When asked further whether there has been a response from the Saudi side, Faizasyah admitted that he had not received the latest information.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in Indonesia appear to have decreased compared to last February. Covid-19 cases in Indonesia in a week an average of 263 cases.
The government has even relaxed a number of restrictions on Covid-19. Among other things, they removed the use of masks outside the room, abolished the mandatory PCR test for newcomers and removed the rules for social distancing on the commuter line (KRL).
To date, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 6.05 million cases and 157,000 have died.
