INDOSPORT.COM – Coach Rans Cilegon FC, Rahmad Darmawan, said that he still needed a senior striker, Cristian Gonzales. Although the age of the player is already 45 years old, his sharpness is maintained.
Cristian Gonzales is one of the names that Rans Cilegon FC has defended, after being promoted from Liga 2 last year. The naturalized player is considered to still be able to compete in the top caste with the attributes he has.
“I like Gonzales because his motivation is never to feel old. That’s the most important note for me,” said Rahmad Darmawan.
“He can motivate young players to set an example.”
The Uruguay-born player’s work ethic deserves thumbs up. Christian Gonzales keep devouring all the portions of the exercise given.
Gonzales is also in excellent physical condition. It should be an example for other players, especially young players.
When testing with a team with younger players, including against foreign players from Africa, Gonzales was still able to compete with his body. He even scored a goal.
“I just gave him a training discount, he didn’t want to. He wanted to always be the same as the others,” said the coach Rahmad Darmawan.
“If we calculate the recovery process for players over 40 years old, it is usually longer. But he still wants to be the same as other players, so this is a good example,” he added.
“We still believe he can help this team, maybe not as a player who plays regularly, but he will definitely help the team,” continued the former Barito Putera coach.
