Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Municipality of Jeddah issued a statement, in which it revealed the reasons for closing the “West Coast” café.
And it stated during the statement: “A reference to the clip circulating on social media, regarding the closure of the “West Coast” cafe, due to the inability to comply with the necessary municipal requirements, to preserve public health and food safety provided to residents and visitors of Jeddah, and after checking the activity record, we would like to clarify. That the owner signed an acknowledgment to review the requirements of the activity before obtaining the license.
And she continued: “The closure took place due to the recurrence of health violations, failure to comply with their treatment, and the expiration of the activity license that was not renewed, and it included the following:
1. Monitoring 22 health violations during the period from 2021-2023 AD.
2. The most prominent violations are non-compliance with the issuance of health cards for workers, failure to wear gloves and head coverings, and poor preservation and handling of food.
3, Recording the case of labor absconding during a control tour.
4. Non-compliance with the payment of outstanding violations.
5. Expiration of the activity license. Noting that no objection request was submitted against the observed violations during the legal objection submission period.
