Realme seems to be preparing to launch a new smartphone in India which will feature a periscope camera. This is indicated by the teaser they just released with the words “NO PERISCOPE. NO FLAGSHIP”, but what smartphone is meant is still a mystery. Come on, let’s guess!
It could be that Realme will launch the GT5 Pro in markets outside China. This is the first flagship cellphone from Realme to be equipped with a periscope camera unit, since the X3 Super Zoom in 2020. The Realme GT5 Pro itself debuted in China in early December and its launch in India will mark its debut in the international market.
Realme 12 Pro+?
Another possibility, Realme is preparing a mid-range smartphone with a periscope camera which can currently only be found in the flagship class. The smartphone is rumored to be the Realme 12 Pro+ which is said to use an OmniVision OV64B sensor with a 3x optical zoom periscope lens.
A separate report from leaker Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) said that the Realme 12 Pro+ will be announced at the end of January or early February 2024. The highest model of the Realme 12 Series is said to be using the Snapdragon 7 Series SoC, possibly the 7s Gen 2.
Once again we are still guessing here. In the next few weeks, it is possible that Realme will provide a more detailed teaser regarding the device they will launch. Apart from that, if it is true that it is a Realme 12 Pro+ with a periscope camera, clearly this will be a new breakthrough from Realme!
