Realme is not yet interested in producing foldable screen phones

Suara.com – realme admit that foldable screen phone or foldable is one form of smartphone innovation today. But Realme won’t be releasing it any time soon.

Madhav Sheth as President of the International Business Unit of Realme admitted that his party really wanted to continue to innovate in products, durable to use, practical to use, to capable capabilities.

“But when we asked the community, it turned out that they wanted a cellphone that practical. Now, this foldable is not as practical as an ordinary cell phone,” said Madhav in a virtual press conference, Tuesday (7/12/2021).

Madhav continued, his party also saw that today’s young generation needed a smartphone that they could rely on. For this reason, Realme wants to make sure its products can meet these needs.

“Well, if it’s foldable, we want to see it first. We don’t want to give it half-heartedly, or downgrade from the first powerful one. But that doesn’t mean foldable is lacking,” he said.

“So we want to make sure first whether the foldable phone is mature and better, that could happen. But for now, we want to adjust it to the needs of users,” explained Madhav.

The plan that Realme wants to carry out in the future is to build an ecosystem through the 1+5+T strategy. The number 1 means the smartphone as a central device, 5 means the laptop, TV, smartwatch, wireless headphones and smart speaker.

While T stands for TechLife, which offers a variety of smart AIoT devices for young people, the target market for Realme.

“In the future, realme will continue to stick to its mission, which is to make realme’s AIoT products the number 1 choice of AIoT in Indonesia,” said Madhav.
