Realme GT Neo will probably come to us as Realme X7 Max 5G

In this country we are expecting the Realme GT shortly, a real flagship thanks to Snapdragon 888. But today an Indian release of the Realme X7 Max 5G shows that it is basically just a Realme GT Neo with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200, which under certain circumstances could also come to us.

Realme X7 Max 5G oder Realme GT Neo?

The relatively young, independent company Realme – all under the large BBK umbrella organization – has made headlines in the last few days. In a positive as well as a negative way. After the Realme GT, a real flagship killer, was presented in the home country at the beginning of March 2021, the Realme GT Neo followed a little later after the “dual flagship” strategy, which is equipped with the much cheaper MediaTek Dimensity 1200 instead of the Snapdragon 888 is. Then followed by Realme Europa Vice-President and CEO Madhav Sheth a somewhat cryptic announcement about a release of the Realme X7 Max 5G on the official Star Wars day, May 4th (May the 4th). This became known to be due to the poor COVID-19 pandemic in India. So the smartphone was officially presented yesterday.

Of course, it remains a relabeled Realme GT Neo, which technically offers the same values as a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz and a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, with a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. The drive is taken over by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC (System on a Chip), together with 6/128 or 8/256 GB memory. A 4,500 mAh battery provides the required energy.

Solid triple camera with 64 megapixels

There is a 16-megapixel camera (punch hole) on the front and a 64-megapixel triple camera on the back for taking photos. The Sony IMX682 primary sensor (f / 1.8) is supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a choice of two built-in speakers or a 3.5 millimeter audio jack socket for good stereo sound. In India, the Realme X7 Max 5G (aka Realme GT Neo) is available from 26,999 Indian rupees (12/256 GB 29,999 INR / 340 €), which would then be just under 300 euros. In China it was the equivalent of 230 euros. So we are slowly approaching German prices.

However, it is not yet known when the release will take place in this country. So far, the German press department has only spoken of a release of the Realme GT for this month, which is currently only available through the importer TradingShenzhen (from 467 euros*) is available.
