A few days ago, Realme boasted of having developed a stable and more powerful competitor than Apple’s MagSafe. Today, the Chinese brand is proud to explain publicly that it will offer the fastest magnetic charging ever seen on a smartphone.
A much faster speed than the MagSafe of the iPhone 12
To optimize the life of a battery, it must be recharged don’t be aggressive, in other words set a limit on the charging speed, but also manage the temperature, since the more it heats up, the more the battery will lose its performance in the long term.
Keeping an iPhone battery longer is both a good gesture for the environment, but also for your wallet since replacing a battery in the Apple Store is still a small budget!
On the Apple side, we tested 2 options :
- Limit iPhone performance without the agreement of the user (which was not a great success given the controversy that this caused).
- Limit iPhone performance with the agreement user and impose a clamping for wired, MagSafe and wireless charging speed.
Take the example of the MagSafe magnetic charging of iPhone 12, today Apple imposes a clamping of 15W. This limitation is not in place to annoy you or waste your time when you need to quickly charge your iPhone, no, it is there because it is. beneficial for your battery!
This vision is not the same everywhere, several smartphone manufacturers are engaged in a real battle to achieve the place of leader in the competition of “the one who offers the fastest charge”.
In this race, Realme has just reached a new stage, the manufacturer announced a few days ago its magnetic recharge called “MagDart“, a name reminiscent of Apple’s MagSafe, but let’s move on … This new charge is talking about it today, because it turns out to be 440% faster than charging Apple through the MagSafe. Yes, you read that right : 440%.
An extremely promise dangerous for battery life. But it doesn’t matter for the manufacturer, as long as your Realme smartphone charges faster!
On the other hand, we should not expect 90% on the state of the battery after 1 year of daily MagDart recharging …
The Chinese company has not mentioned how many Watt will charge the first Android smartphone compatible with magnetic charging, but it is to be expected a lot of Watts.
To hold such a fast recharge, Realme has planned everything. Engineers have developed two MagDart chargers : the first is similar to that of Apple (therefore with a slower recharge) and another is presented as a large brick with a cooling fan, probably the one that will offer much faster charging than Apple’s MagSafe.
So of course you will see videos comparatives on YouTube who will ridicule the iPhone 12 and its magnetic charging, but frankly, is faster charging really better than longer battery life? Everyone has a different opinion on the question, but on the side of Apple Park, the choice has already been made for a long time.
