Really: Venom Comes Out in ‘Let There Be Carnage’

In recent years, the LGBT+ community has been gaining recognition through Hollywood’s various blockbusters. There are now gay characters in Star Wars and the Marvel movies. This was not an issue a few years ago.

Now goes Andy Serkis even so far that Venom in his Venom: Let There Be Carnage is an LGBTQIA person. He would even have his ‘coming out’ in the movie. The filmmaker spoke about it with Uproxx.

Venom has ‘coming out’
“They absolutely love each other and that’s kind of the center of the movie, that love affair, that central love affair… I have [de film] inherited at a very interesting moment – and that’s the ‘The Seven Year Itch’, ‘The Odd Couple’ phase of Eddie and Venom’s relationship,” said Serkis.

“Tom and co-writer Kelly Marcel often talked about Venom’s ‘coming out’ and going to a party that’s sort of an LGBTQIA festival. Really, that’s what I’d call it. And so this is his coming-out party Basically. This is Venom’s coming out party.”

From October 20 you can see the ‘coming out’ of Venom in Dutch cinemas.
