Russian President Vladimir Putin has to relinquish control of the war in Ukraine for several days, as he is scheduled for surgery for cancer, the Daily Mail reported, quoting an insider from the Kremlin.
It is alleged that the Russian dictator will nominate Nikolai Patrushev, who is currently secretary of the Security Council, as his temporary deputy. The former director of the FSB is considered the architect of the military strategy of the Russian army in Ukraine. He is also the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv is full of neo-Nazis.
A source close to the Kremlin says Putin has postponed his operation, which will now take place before Victory Day on May 9. Putin is likely to order a mass mobilization because his war against Ukraine is not going according to plan so far and Russia is suffering heavy losses in manpower and equipment.
