LSK goes home from Finland with a great starting point before the second leg.
– There is an ability in this team to fight for each other. Being a collective, creating what Lillestrøm has done means that you win out of this type of difficult matches, says football commentator in VG, Vegard Aulstad.
Despite the fact that Lillestrøm were favourites, it was no easy game in Finland.
Jake Jervis had several good opportunities in the first half, and he got his biggest chance in the second half, when Vetle Dragsnes fouled Diego Rojas in the penalty area.
The penalty put the Englishman in the post.
– Here they are really lucky, the Englishman has not set his sights this day, said Aulstad.
Dragsnes could quickly become the scapegoat, but he still ended up being the hero. Just a few minutes later, Lillestrøm got a corner, and Dragsnes got it into the goal.
– It is this power of these defenders in the opponent’s box. It’s about just fighting that ball into the net, says Aulstad.
Lillestrøm stayed away and can therefore enjoy a nice trip back to Romerike.
– I am a little surprised by the Finnish team. I thought the level was a little lower. But Lillestrøm’s second half is good, and I think that’s what we’ll see in Åråsen as well, says former LSK player, now Sandefjord player, Mats Haakenstad in the VG studio.
