Charles Ancelotti reveal Luke Modric and Toni Kroos understand Real Madrid trying to regenerate. Therefore, both are not a problem if suggested.

real madrid coach, Charles Ancelotti, trying to rotate Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. These two figures have played almost irreplaceable roles for Los Blancos in the last few seasons.

In the last game, when Madrid won 2-0 over Athletic Bilbao, Modric and Kroos were benched. Both of them were only introduced towards the end of the match with Kroos able to score one goal.

Ancelotti revealed that his decision to leave Modric and Kroos on the bench was part of the regeneration that Madrid was trying to do. Remember, Modric is 37 years old and Kroos is 33 years old.

Ancelotti also emphasized that Modric and Kroos had absolutely no problem with this policy. Both of them are well aware that Los Blancos is starting a transition from the golden era of Modric and Kroos. Aurelien Tchouameni (22 years) and Eduardo Camavinga (19 years) are predicted to be the successors of the two in the Madrid midfield.

“They are professionals. They really understand this club and the quality of this squad. I don’t need to explain the conditions that sometimes they don’t play,” Ancelotti said as quoted by ESPN.

“This is a transitional moment in the squad that everyone has to understand. It’s about the understanding of the veterans and the patience of the young players. That was also important for our success last season,” he explained.

Even so, Ancelotti does not deny that he still needs Modric and Kroos. Both of them still have a big contribution to Madrid this season. Modric has scored five goals and two assists, while Kroos has scored two goals and four assists this season.
