Bethenny Frankel (50), known from the reality show “The Real Housewives of New York City”, was criticized by several LGBTQ spokespersons after she made insensitive comments regarding pronouns and gender identity. It reports Page Six.
The criticism came after a recent episode of her podcast «Just B» was posted. In the episode, Frankel talked about the theme in connection with his daughter Bryn (11).
–We have to go into the fact that I did a teaching at Zoom for my daughter’s school and had pronouns conversations with every teacher, every parent and every child, Frankel began, seemingly frustrated.
Furthermore, she said that her daughter had said that even at her school, everyone must say their pronouns.
– My daughter did not even know what her was, and told me that she knew what she is, or thinks she is, but she has never said it out loud. There has not been a conversation. So she said she did not know, she continued.

Violent criticism
The reality star also questioned the inclusion of transgender people in school sports, and later suggested that one’s gender identity could simply be a “phase”.
The statements were not well received and she received fierce criticism from LGBTQ spokespersons on Twitter.
“I was going to quote the transphobic language you used in the horrible introduction to this episode, but it’s too painful to write,” one person wrote.
Hi Beth! I was going to quote the transphobic language you used in the horrific intro to this episode, but it’s too hurtful to even put it in writing. Maybe do the bare minimum of research before you speak to your audience? https://t.co/x56eMpCOMH
– There is a girls’ camp and a person with a penis, who identifies as a girl, went to the camp and lay in the bunk with the girls. They saw her. Although the person had a male anatomy but identifies as a girl, the other girls had to see a penis. They are nine and ten years old, so the parents were obviously not so happy about it, she said.

Frankel pointed out, however, that Bryn, with whom she shares ex-husband Jason Hoppy (51), have a solid understanding of gender identity and the importance of using the correct pronoun.
Still, she suggested in the podcast that she most likely will not let her daughter sleep in the same bed as a trans child.
Despite the fact that several believed that Frankel made transphobic and hurtful statements, she herself believes that she has not done anything wrong.
«Listen to the podcast. Then comment. I was absolutely not mistaken. And I will discuss this again this week. Fortunately, I have a platform to clarify what the media likes to twist and turn», she writes on Twitter.
Listen to the podcast. Then comment. I was absolutely not wrong. And I’m going to discuss this again this week. Thankfully I have a platform to clarify what the media loves to distort. @justbpodcast ps. I’m not afraid of cancelation so not afraid of charged discussions. https://t.co/FDVsKUCWan
Frankel is also convinced that the criticism may be due to the fact that more people are afraid of having real conversations, and believes that it should be allowed to talk freely about what one thinks and feels, where not everything is followed by a script.
