The venues for outdoor sporting events, such as the La Romareda stadium, may admit a maximum capacity of 40% of their capacity during the month of August. This was announced this Wednesday by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, at the press conference after the Interterritorial Health Council, where the autonomous communities agreed with the Ministry on said measure. Thus, the league competition will start under these parameters for Real Zaragoza, which will debut against Ibiza next week. In the case of closed venues, the capacity during this month will be 30%.
According to Darias, all of them voted in favor except the Basque Country, which “also agreed, but believed that this competence corresponds exclusively to it.”
In this way, the Football League, which will begin on August 13, “will be able to return this month with the stadiums at 40%,” he explained. The rules agreed today will be in effect for the three three weeks of August, Darias said, since “at the end of the month we will meet again to review them.”
He pointed out that, in addition to the limitation of capacity, in the celebration of sporting events it will be mandatory to maintain the safety distance between attendees, the use of masks and the enabling of protocols to avoid crowds in the exits and corridors.
Neither will it be possible to smoke, “neither tobacco nor other derivatives such as electronic cigarettes,” he continued, and the consumption of food will be prohibited, although not that of beverages. He added that “to avoid mobility”, the entrance to the venues will preferably be limited to paid members and the local public.
