The Appeals Committee of the Spanish Football Federation rejected Real Madrid’s request to lift the suspension penalty imposed on Merengue player Jude Bellingham.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the committee made its decision on Friday morning, confirming Bellingham’s absence from the matches between Osasuna and Celta Vigo in La Liga.
Bellingham received a direct red card in the Valencia match, for objecting to the match referee, Gil Manzano, because he did not count Real Madrid’s third goal, in the match that ended in a positive 2-2 draw.
The match between Real Madrid and Valencia witnessed a very exciting incident, when referee Manzano blew the final whistle during a cross for the Merengues, which ended with a goal scored by Bellingham.
The referee confirmed in his report after the match that Jude Bellingham addressed him in an aggressive manner in addition to his intense screaming, and therefore Article 124 of the Disciplinary Code was applied to him, suspending him for two matches.
Real Madrid leads the La Liga table this season with 66 points, followed by Girona in second place with 59 points.
