Madrid, May 25 / WAM / Real Madrid regained the winning streak in the Spanish Football League, by defeating Rayo Vallecano 2-1 today in the 36th round of the competition, which also witnessed today Villarreal’s victory over Cadiz 2-0 and Elche tied with Sevilla 1-1.
Real Madrid raised its score to 74 points, to advance to second place, and Rayo Vallecano’s balance froze at 46 points, after suffering its third consecutive defeat in the competition.
Real Madrid ended the first half in favor of a goal scored by Karim Benzema in the 31st minute.
In the second half, Raul de Thomas equalized for Rio Vallecano in the 84th minute, before Rodrigo scored Real Madrid’s winning goal in the penultimate minute.
