Real Madrid managed to become a champion Liga Champions 2022 after beating Liverpool 1-0 final match at Stade de France, Paris, Sunday (29/5) early morning WIB.
The Reds actually dominated the attack in the first half by producing five on target. Two of them are golden opportunities that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois can still thwart.
Liverpool’s first best chance occurred in the 16th minute through Mohamed Salah’s shot utilizing Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low pass. However, the efforts of the Egyptian international star can still be ignored by Courtois.
Five minutes later, the Reds almost broke the deadlock through the action of Sadio Mane. Unfortunately, the shot from the Senegal national team captain could still be blocked by Courtois.
Madrid, who played more direct, had difficulty penetrating Liverpool’s solid defense. However, Karim Benzema managed to penetrate the barricade and successfully broke into Liverpool’s goal in the 42nd minute.
However, the referee annulled the goal. Benzema was declared offside after reviewing VAR. The French striker was deemed offside when he received the ball for the second time in a frenzy in front of goal.
The scoreless draw colored the scoreboard in the first half.
Entering the second half, both Liverpool and Real Madrid appeared more aggressive. The fast game played by both teams made the duel even more interesting.
The long-awaited goal finally broke in the 59th minute thanks to the action of Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian winger managed to sneak in from behind Trent Alexander-Arnold to meet Federico Valverde’s low cross.

Five minutes later, Mohamed Salah almost equalized with a measured left foot shot from outside the penalty box. However, the ball can still be blocked by Courtois who looks good.
One returned a golden opportunity in the 64th minute by firing a shot into the lower left corner, but Courtois was again able to make an incredible save.
In the 80th minute, Courtois again became a Madrid hero by thwarting Diogo Jota’s chances. Three minutes later, the Belgian goalkeeper again denied Salah’s golden opportunity.

El Real almost doubled the position in injury time, to be precise in the 91st minute through Dani Ceballos who was already facing one on one with Alisson Becker. However, the ball from Ceballos’ feet was successfully seized by the opposing defender.
The match ended with Madrid 1-0 advantage. This is the 14th Champions League trophy for Los Blancos as well as reinforce their dominance in European competition.
