Real Madrid will receive the Champion’s Cup in the game against Alavés on May 14 – – 2024-05-08 15:44:56

The Royal Spanish Federation has decided to go back and hand over the League champion’s cup to Real Madrid in its stadium on May 14. That day, the white team plays against Alavés and will receive their champion trophy, with their fans in the stands.

The RFEF had surprised Real Madrid in the morning by informing them that they would receive the trophy in Los Cármenes this Saturday, something that initially surprised the white club and subsequently caused absolute rejection by the entity. “We are not going to receive it that day, we refuse,” said Real Madrid sources, alleging that it was “a lack of respect for Granada and its fans,” who could be relegated this Saturday.

Given the refusal of the white club and all the commotion that has arisen, the Federation has backed down and opted for the most logical and normal decision, that Madrid receive the trophy in its stadium, in front of its fans, as has been done lifetime. Logic finally prevails after Madrid already had to celebrate LaLiga in a box at the Bernabéu due to LaLiga’s lack of flexibility regarding the scheduled times.

The LaLiga Cup will therefore not be in the celebration in the streets of Madrid scheduled for this Sunday, something that does not disrupt the plans in the slightest. The white team will celebrate the title in the Community, the City Hall and at Cibeles. Not so in the stadium, which has a concert scheduled. The celebrations at the stadium have two scheduled dates. The first, improvised for this Wednesday if the pass to the Champions League final is obtained. The second, for Tuesday, May 14, the day on which Madrid will receive the cup.

Sunday’s party
The LaLiga celebration party, in the absence of official confirmation from Real Madrid, will begin at 11:00 local time, with the visit of the Real Madrid players to the Community headquarters, in Puerta del Sol. There they will be received by Ayuso and they will greet the fans from the balcony.

From there, the bus will head to the City Hall headquarters, where they will be received by the mayor, José Luis Martínez Almeida. It will be the penultimate stop before the great mass bath in Colón.

Madrid, however, waits to see what happens on Wednesday against Bayern before confirming the LaLiga party and its route.
