Madrid: Real Madrid is looking for a new coach to replace Carlo Ancelotti, who will step down from the position of club coach next year. Royal is considering four former players. France’s Zinedine Zidane, who shone as a former player and coach, is the first. The club have also been eyeing Xabi Alonso, Raul Gonzalez and Alvaro Arbeloa.
Zidane’s advantage is that he has won Real Madrid three times in the Champions League. He wanted to become the coach of the French team but it did not happen. With this, the return to Royal is being discussed.
Spanish Xabi was a Real player from 2009 to 2014 and is currently the coach of German club Bayer Leverkusen. Raul Gonzalez and Alvaro Arbeloa will be appointed as coaches only if these two are unavailable.
Ancelotti’s contract expires in June 2024. He will then join the Brazilian national team. Italian Ancelotti joined Real in 2021. He is going to be the coach of the national team for the first time.
