According to the ESPN, the CBF was surprised by the confirmation of the coach’s renewal at Real Madrid, but not so much.
All Carlo Ancelotti’s talks about taking over the Brazilian team in 2024, when his previous relationship with Real would end, were with Ednaldo Rodrigues, who left the presidency of the entity following a court decision.
The confederation always trusted in a verbal agreement with Ancelotti, with a term of intent that would have been exchanged between Ednaldo and the coach – something that the CBF guarantees it had.
