Ancelotti wants to bring the Barcelona superstar to the club; Real Madrid that is not possible
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly asked Tottenham Hotspur attacker Richarlison to replace Karim Benzema at Real Madrid. But Los Blancos president Florentino Perez rejected Ancelotti’s request, according to the report.
Spanish media El Nacional reported that Ancelotti believed that Real Madrid’s attacking line would be stronger if Richarlison was brought to the team, but he was not ready to do so.
There have also been reports that Richarlison’s demeanor has deterred Perez from signing with Real Madrid. According to El Nacional’s report, Perez also opined that Richarlison, who is constantly having problems with teammates and management, will not fit in with Real’s squad.
Meanwhile, Karim Benzema, who left Real Madrid, was signing with Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad. The former Real Madrid star, who joined the team on a three-year contract at a record fee, will play with the Saudi club until 2026.
The French international joined Los Blancos from Lyon in 2009. Benzema won five Champions League titles with Real and was instrumental in helping Real win four Spanish titles.
Benzema scored 353 goals in 647 matches played for Real Madrid. In the 2022-23 season alone, Benzema managed to get 30 goals and six assists in 42 matches.
