Marco Verratti29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, sent a message to his account Instagram aimed at supporters. He apologizes for the defeat, 3-1against the Real Madrid in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League which eliminated the Rouge and Blue title race (3-2 over both matches). He knows that the fans must have suffered from this scenario and calls for patience, because “better days are coming”.
Verratti « I will try until the end to give you back what you deserve”
“It’s really very hard to accept a defeat like that. You deserve our apologies. I will try until the end to give you back what you deserve. Let’s stick together because better days are coming. »
The Little Owl did not deserve in this match against the Real Madrid. He was not exceptional, but he was present. He steered the game and put in a lot of effort. We did not expect this outcome after the hour mark, but it happened. PSG suffered yet another disappointment and the apologies of Verratti are both logical and touching. But, after several unacceptable eliminations in recent seasons, not sure that apologies are enough. Especially when you know that the same ailments keep coming back. It’s time for PSG to reinvent itself, to seek and find a new way of working, a new sports policy. The career of Verratti at PSG will not have been marked by terrible disappointments. After that, there aren’t really any words. The end of the season will be long.
