Real Madrid travel to the United States

MADRID. What was already an open secret has now been confirmed: Real Madrid is traveling to the USA for the first time since the summer of 2019 and the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, to promote itself and its brand there and at the same time to prepare intensively for the 2022/23 season – on the one hand with training sessions, on the other hand of course also with friendlies.

As the club announced on Friday evening, three friendlies are planned on American soil. As part of the Soccer Champions Tour, Carlo Ancelotti and his team meet FC Barcelona right at the start. After 2017, this is the second time there has been a Clásico that is not fought in a competitive game.

The arch-rivals clash will take place on Saturday 23 July (Pre-order tickets). An exact time is not yet known, but due to the time difference, the encounter in Central Europe is likely to increase in the middle of the night. The venue is Las Vegas with the Allegiant Stadium there, which offers space for around 60,000 spectators.

Test also against Club America and Juventus

Finally, on Tuesday, July 26th, they face Mexico’s Club América. Real is traveling to San Francisco for this, the game will be played at Oracle Park. On July 30th there is a duel with Juventus Turin Rose Bowl Stadium from Los Angeles, after which the competitive season starts on August 10 with the UEFA Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki. The Chivas de Guadalajara are also represented in the Soccer Champions Tour, but a game against them is not planned.

Real has not announced when training will start in Valdebebas. That is supposed to be the case on Friday, July 8th.
