Real Madrid postpones Napoli’s qualification with an exciting victory

Spanish Real Madrid continued to lead the third group of the group stage of the European Champions League.

Real Madrid achieved an exciting 4-2 victory over its Italian guest, Napoli, today, Wednesday, in the fifth (penultimate) round of the group, which also witnessed a 1-1 draw between Portuguese Sporting Braga and its German guest, Union Berlin.

Real Madrid, which achieved its promotion to the knockout rounds in the tournament that holds the record for the number of wins with 14 titles since the last round, continued to lead, after raising its score to 15 points, after winning all five matches it played in the group.

Napoli, which missed the opportunity to qualify for the knockout stage tonight, froze at 7 points in second place, 3 points ahead of Portuguese Sporting Braga, who is in third place, while Union Berlin remained at the bottom of the standings with two points.

Napoli took the initiative to score through its Spanish star, Giovanni Simeone, in the ninth minute, but Brazilian Rodrigo quickly equalized for Real Madrid in the 11th minute, continuing to score for the fourth match in a row in various competitions.

Rodrigo previously scored for the Royal Team against Sporting Braga in the Champions League, before visiting Valencia and Cadiz in the Spanish League.

English star Jude Bellingham added the second goal for Real Madrid in the 22nd minute, continuing to score for the second match in a row, but Cameroonian Andre Zambo Anguissa scored the equalizer for Napoli in the 47th minute.

While everyone was preparing for the match to end in a 2-2 draw, young player Nico Paz gave Real Madrid the three points, after scoring the third goal for the hosts in the 84th minute, minutes after he came onto the field from the bench.

Joselu concluded the Real Madrid goal festival by scoring the fourth goal for the Spanish team in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half.

At the Municipal Stadium in the Portuguese city of Braga, Sporting Braga maintained its slim hopes of advancing to the round of 16 of the tournament, following its exciting 1-1 draw with its guest, Union Berlin.

Braga was forced to play with ten players after its French defender, Sekou Nyakatti, was sent off in the 30th minute, so Union Berlin took advantage of the numerical deficiency among its opponent, after Robin Gosens scored a goal for the German team in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, Braga reorganized its ranks again, with Alvaro Djalo scoring the equalizer for the Portuguese team in the 51st minute.

Braga must now win over its host Napoli by two goals in the final round of the group, in order to advance to the next round, where it will then be equal in points with the Italian team, thus ruling on the difference in direct confrontations between them.

Napoli began its campaign in the group with a 2-1 victory over Braga at its home stadium.
