Real Madrid makes history and reaches 40 million followers on Twitter

Real Madrid announced that with 40 million followers on the social network Twitter, it has become the first sports institution to reach such a figure, with a total of 384 million among all its social networks.

The white club celebrated reaching the figure of 40 million followers on its official Spanish Twitter account. It is the first sports institution in the world to reach such a high figure in a club that was already the first to exceed 100 million followers on its Instagram and Facebook profiles.

“The universality of Real Madrid is evidenced by its success on social networks, where it accumulates 384 million followers,” the club said in a statement.

The difference in followers of Real Madrid with clubs with which it competes in Spain is great. Barcelona has 18.2 million on Twitter, Atlético de Madrid 5.2 million, Valencia 1.3, Sevilla 1 million, Athletic 942,000 and Betis 843,000.
