Madrid’s qualification follows Villarreal who surprisingly eliminated favorites Bayern Munich 2-1 on aggregate. Spain may add representatives if Atletico Madrid can eject Manchester City in the match at the Wanda Metropolitano, Thursday (14/4) WIB.
Ancelotti is pleased with the progress of the Spanish teams in the 2021/2022 Champions League. The reason is, so far the Premier League is considered better than La Liga. Ancelotti also congratulated Villarreal for beating Bayern, the club he had coached.
“This club never gives up,” the Madrid coach told Channel 5which is quoted Football-Italia. “For this reason, we get big rewards like the semi-finals.”
“Our first goal was a blow to them. Real Madrid are used to playing in the semi-finals, but we are proud to have achieved this target because everyone says that English football is superior to Spanish football.”
“In the end, Spain have two teams in the semifinals. This is not personal revenge. I’m very happy for Villarreal and Unai Emery, a great team and coach. Tomorrow there will be a candidate for another semifinal, Atletico Madrid.” Ancelotti after Real Madrid kicked Chelsea.
