Real Madrid is being investigated by the Spanish Football Federation.

Sevilla have reported their rival for “persecution and harassment” against referees.

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 1-0 in La Liga on February 25 and both the pre- and post-match games have become a sordid story.

Even before the match, Sevilla submitted a report to the Spanish Football Federation, RFEF, where the club demanded that Real Madrid be reviewed.

Confirms investigation

Real Madrid have made a habit of checking the referees before their matches. It is done in videos on the club’s official television channel Real Madrid TVwhere the judges are criticized and put under scrutiny.

“We want to see if this can be considered a violation of the competition rules or other rules”Sevilla wrote about his report.

On Thursday, Sevilla then confirmed that the RFEF has opened an investigation into what Sevilla call “persecution and harassment” against Isidro Díaz de Mera (head referee) and Pablo González Fuertes (VAR referee) who officiated the match between the teams.

“Freedom of speech”

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has given a brief comment on the TV channel’s alleged attempts to influence referees before matches.

– It is freedom of expression. They can share their opinions, just like you do, says Ancelotti at a press conference.

Also last weekend, the referees came into focus during Real Madrid’s 2-2 match against Valencia. “Los Blancos” felt sniffed at a decisive goal when the referee blew for full time seconds before Jude Bellingham scored.
