According to UEFA, Real Madrid and Manchester City will meet in a Champions League tie for the third consecutive season, after meeting in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 semifinals.

This match will confront the two coaches with the most victories in the entire history of the Champions League, that of Real Madrid: Carlo Ancelotti (113) and that of Manchester City Pep Guardiola (109). Manchester City have only lost one of their last 12 games against Spanish teams in any European competition (W8 D3), that defeat was 3-1 away to Real Madrid in the 2021/22 Champions League semi-final.
After losing his first two games against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid (in the 2013/14 semi-finals when he was in charge of Bayern Munich), Pep Guardiola has only lost one of his last eight games against Ancelotti in any competition (W6 1E), all these games with his current club, Manchester City.
