“A legend like you will always be one of the great icons of Real Madrid,” he said during Ramos’ farewell press conference on Thursday (17/6) this afternoon as reported by Brand.
Florentino Perez continued, Real Madrid’s door for Sergio Ramos will forever be wide open if he wants to return. Because forever, Real Madrid is the home of Ramos.
“I want you to know, Real Madrid will always be your home,” Perez said.
“You will always be remembered as the man of La Decima, the winner in the 93rd minute in Lisbon. That means so much to the millions of Real Madrid fans,” he added.
This refers to the 2013/2014 season, when Real Madrid won the 10th Champions League or also known as La Decima.
In the final match against Atletico Madrid, Los Blancos trailed 0-1 until the last minute. Ramos was finally able to equalize with a header that met the ball from a corner.
The game lasted until extra time and finally Real Madrid managed to score three goals. They locked the Champions League title with a 4-1 win.
