Real Madrid has taken a big step towards the first Primera División title since 2017. One day after FC Barcelona stumbled surprisingly over Celta de Vigo, De Koninklijke ended up against two points, especially against FC Espanyol – fellow townsman of FC Barcelona.
Casemiro scored the only goal of the evening at half time, after a beautiful assist with the heel of Karim Benzema. Only in the opening phase did the list captain seem to have a hard time. Sergi Darder and Wu Lei showed up near Thibaut Courtois, but couldn’t crown the debut of Francisco Rufete – the fourth (!) Espanyol coach of the season.
