Diego Lopez could return to Real Madrid eight years after his departure. At least that’s what the sometimes imaginative Spanish online newspaper Okdiario reports. Accordingly, Lopez should take the role of Andriy Lunin.
According to Spanish media reports, Lunin should extend his contract, which expires in 2024, and ideally be loaned out within the Primera Division in the new season in order to get regular match practice.
Diego Lopez had already switched to Real Madrid 22 years ago and subsequently played for the second representation. In 2007 he said goodbye to Los Blancos. In early 2013 he returned to Real after stints at Villarreal and Seville.

In the summer of 2014, the ways parted again after a total of 73 competitive games for the first team. Diego Lopez joined AC Milan. He was a regular keeper at Espanyol last season and his contract expires at the end of the month. The 40-year-old is therefore available on a free transfer.
