“real life, more complicated than in the books!”

Dive into the real economic world! To put their marketing courses into practice, final year students from the Racan high school in Château-du-Loir, Management Science and Technology (STMG) section, have created their mini-company. Their work – baptized “Terroirs de Racan” – was rewarded by the Pays de la Loire Regional Council on May 19, 2022.

A concrete application of marketing courses

These 17 young people from Sarth have chosen to sell baskets of local products. This project allowed them to reflect, in groups, on market and feasibility studies, marketing and communication. These practical works usefully complemented their courses. “Students realized that, in real life, things are a little more complicated than in the theoretical courses“, testifies Laurence Frouin, professor of marketing (marketing) who supervised the group.

Preparation for their future professional life

After their baccalaureate, some high school students will begin work-study studies in September. They will enter professional life. We are going to ask them to be more and more autonomous and versatile. This mini-company is, for them, a beginning“. details the teacher, herself a trader for six years. “It prepares them for the aftermath“, summarizes Laurence Frouin.
