With a very limited budget, the purchase is possible in some large cities in France.
Limited budget? In some cities it is possible to buy with 50,000 euros, according to a survey carried out by The Parisian, and it is in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) that you will be entitled to the largest surface area. With 50,000 euros, an apartment of up to 40 m2 is admitted (knowing that the average price is 1,238 euros per m2).

More space in the countryside… but it takes work
To have larger surfaces, it is better to count on rural departments such as Aveyron, Nièvre or Dordogne. Using data from Best Agents, at least 198 municipalities offer prices per square meter allowing the purchase of a 75m2 property with a budget of €50,000. On the other hand, very often these are assets that require work, most often electrical or plumbing.
Le Parisien shares another good plan: apartments in mountain resorts. For example, there are offers at 32,000 euros for 24m2 in the Pyrenees or at 49,000 euros for 25m2 in Isère near Grenoble.
