According to ElDebate.com, the parquet is en route to the 4 referees Carlos Clos Gómez, Alejandro Hernández Hernández, José María Sánchez Martínez and Santiago Jaime Latre.
According to the online media, the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office is examining a report relating to the real estate assets of these arbitrators. The confidential document reveals all the real estate acquisitions of the four men. Clos Gómez, a former Primera División referee and current CTA VAR manager, notably owns seven properties valued at over €1million.
In 2007 he bought an 813 square meter chalet in Pinesque (Zaragoza) which he paid for in cash. Six years later he acquired up to four properties: one in Mocófar (Castellón), a storage room and two parking lots, also paid for in cash at the time. In 2016 he bought two more houses and another storage room in Zaragoza. Finally, a house with parking and storage room in Villanueva del Pardillo (Madrid) with a mortgage.
The report, as reported by ElDebate.com, has been in the hands of the Crown for a few days and contains 55 pages with photographs of all the properties held by the four arbitrators. The anti-corruption section is studying the possibility of including this detailed document in the ongoing court case concerning the “Negreira case”.
An investigation that threatens the Copa del Rey final because Sánchez Martínez (main referee) and Jaime Latre (VAR) are in charge of directing the final between Real Madrid and Osasuna.
