Real estate agents in Randstad would make mutual agreements about sales | NOW

Brokers and real estate traders would in some cases make agreements among themselves, so that customers of befriended brokers make the highest bid or that sales brokers only pass on bids from these befriended brokers to the selling party. This appears from a tour of the daily newspaper on Saturday Faithful. Real estate association VBO calls for transparency.

Real estate agents, just like housing corporations, should provide insight into how houses have been sold. The corporations do this with a so-called general accountability, a list of reasons why a particular home is allocated.

According to Faithful, which surveyed 130 real estate agents and 100 real estate traders in the Randstad, more than 10 percent of real estate agents and a quarter of real estate traders say that agreements are made with which real estate agents help each other.

Real estate association NVM says in the newspaper that it knows the “signals” but has “no concrete complaints” yet.

VBO thinks that the trade association can play a role in greater transparency. “As a trade association, we can vouch for that general accountability. After the purchase, make known under what conditions something was sold and only do this to the bidders. That should be possible, because this information also goes to the Land Registry. That would make the sales process more transparent. said the spokesman.

The NVM thinks that the problems can only be tackled if the government draws up rules for them. VBO endorses this: “If you are a sworn broker, you fall under disciplinary law. That solves most of the problems that arise now.”

VBO says it has no insight into whether there are also similar problems among VBO brokers. The brokerage association says it will meet with the NVM.
