De term master bedroom should be captivated. Dozens of real estate agents in England feel that they no longer want to use the designation for the master bedroom because of the allusions it would have to sexism and slavery.

Several brokers in London and in the south of England are removing the term to appeal to younger, socially conscious buyers. Instead of master they will now advertise the room as “primary” or “main” bedroom, reported The Times.
“The change stems from political correctness and a change in home seekers in London,” said a real estate agent who master bedroom has already renamed in his housing stock. “These are buyers in their early twenties to mid-forties who come from all over the world. They are often very open-minded and find every form of racism or sexism very offensive, ”he typifies his customers.
The idea of banning the term has spilled over from America where singer John Legend tapped brokers, as they still used the term ‘master’.
David Westgate of the Andrews real estate chain in Bristol, with 50 offices, says the Black Lives Matter movement has made his company “more aware” of their behavior and “wants to ensure that people are treated with respect”.
Neutral and non-offensive room name
Dozens of other real estate agents also believe that no buyer should be offended if they choose a “neutral” and “non-offensive” room name. Or, for example, not to mention ‘his’ and ‘her’ bathroom, while there may also be a same-sex couple among the group of potential buyers.
Edward Heaton, of brokerage firm Heaton and Partners, is against the turnaround and calls the term deleted master “Ridiculous”. “We are now expected to ignore our history and heritage to calm a noisy minority.”
The National Brokers Association in England has so far refrained from commenting on the name change of the master bedroom
