Toyota bZ4x will be the fleet for the delegates of the G20 Summit. In addition to preparing the availability of units, Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) also released the electric car to the public.
“Indeed, first of all we are focusing on preparing for the G20, because this is an important event, and Indonesia is also proud. So we have already discussed this, its needs. The number of units is around 140 units. Gradually it will enter Indonesia. Before the G20 event at the end of the year This is our focus right now,” said Marketing Director, Anton Jimmi during a virtual conference, Thursday (14/4/2022).
Anton said his party is also discussing the sale of the BZ4x. Especially regarding after-sales service.
“This is on-going, we are discussing how to market it. Details regarding sales and so on, will be waited for, when the time will be informed,” explained Anton.
“Now we are focusing on the success of the G20. This is not only a matter of importing cars, but also preparing infrastructure, aftersales, spare parts, and then charging facilities, including training drivers, mechanics and so on,” he added.
In Japan, the Toyota bZ4X will be available through the KINTO subscription rental service. The launch will take place on May 12, 2022.
For information, this electric car is equipped with a 355 Volt lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 71.4 kWh. The battery is buried under the floor and has a temperature controller for efficiency. Once fully charged, this electric car can reach a distance of 500 km for the FWD type and 460 km for the AWD type. The battery supports AC charging up to 6.6 kW and DC charging up to 150 kW which can charge 80 percent in 30 minutes.
It is known that the development of the Toyota bZ4X was carried out together with Subaru. The Toyota bZ4X will use the e-TNGA platform which has been designed for Toyota electric vehicles.
Toyota claims the battery capacity will remain 90 percent of its initial condition after 10 years of use or 240,000 km. At the same time, there is a high level of battery cell safety including monitoring of excessive battery voltage, current and temperature, contamination removal plus high resistance cooling.
In terms of power, the Toyota bZ4X FWD comes with a single front-mounted electric motor. The electric motor can generate power up to 201 hp. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h can be reached in 8.4 seconds.
While the AWD variant is equipped with two electric motors at the front and rear. Each can produce 107 hp with a combined output of 215 hp. Despite being 85 kg heavier, the Toyota bZ4X AWD can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.
