Many millennials spent their free time glued to television while watching television channel Nickelodeon. In addition to yellow sponges, red-haired teenagers and skating children, the fairies of Winx Club often passed in review there. For the nostalgic, there is now good news: Netflix is breathing new life into the animated series and releasing a live-action version, which Fate: The Winx Saga will be called.

The brand new series will hit the streaming platform on January 22, 2021. The storyline, five fairies who learn to control their magical powers at boarding school, remains the same. But the trailer does promise a new, dark jacket. The director of the series is therefore none other than Brian Young, who also took care of ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Netflix adepts may also encounter familiar faces in the cast. Abigail Cowen, known for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will play the lead role. The other four fairies are played by Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum and Sadie Soverall.
