CAMAGÜEY.- The actress Reina Ayala Don turns 67 this Sunday and in 2023 the 50th of her artistic life. “I’m still upside down on stage,” she told the audience who came to see her present Elaine Vilar Madruga’s book Soledad.
In the first photo I read a scene between Miriam and Natacha, because it’s a text for the theater that explores the contradictions of a mother and her twin daughter alive. “It is a work that must be staged. Let’s hope that some director reads it. What is theater if not life itself splendidly brought into art”, she underlined.
Something special has happened at the Antonio Suárez bookstore. Among the audience was the bookseller Bárbara Flor, who was enthusiastic about the twin bond, because she belongs to Flor Bárbara: “There is a unity that goes beyond the father and the mother.”
Reina praised Elaine for her versatility: “How can she at 33 do so many things? It’s amazing!”
As a reader, she appreciated the poetic language in the treatment of the sisters’ relationship: “The writer chooses poetry to unite them in a more human feeling.” Also, as an actress, she appreciated the short speeches, the atmosphere of the characters made with simplicity and the ease of editing because it took place in a room and in the library.
Reina’s first words were of gratitude for the opportunity to be a jury together with Niurki Pérez and Ulises Rodriguez Febles of the Camagüey City Award 2021 which awarded this text by Elaine, recently published by Editorial Acana.
We will see Reina as an actress theater of the wind, a group of young people he admires and who, under the direction of Freddys Nunez Estenoz allows him to return to the Tasende Theater, the theater where he began his career in Dramatic complex of Camagüey.
