In September, the O2 stadium in London will be the scene of an event that has never happened in the history of tennis: the meeting of the Fab Four. Although there have been many challenges between them and they have shared the circuit for almost 20 years, this is the first time that the four players who have marked the history of modern tennis will play together, in one team, the Laver Cup Team Europe.
The first announcement was that of Roger Federer, who decided to make his comeback in the very tennis event he founded, after his last match at Wimbledon in 2021 against Hubert Hurkacz. This was followed by the announcement of another big comeback, that of the Fedal: Rafa Nadal was the second member of the Big 3 to join the group.
After the Spaniard, Andy Murray also arrived, who will play the Laver Cup for the first time in his career. With such a poster, Novak Djokovic was asked on numerous occasions at Wimbledon about his presence in London: the Serbian replied that he expected to be there.
In fact, the Wimbledon winner also joined the group, bringing the Fab Four full circle.
social reactions
The announcement of Novak Djokovic’s presence at the Laver Cup was followed by social reactions from those involved (and others).
The former number one in the world opened the dances with the emoticon of the smile and the fire. The Serbian champion was answered by the Swiss on Instagram: “Dream Team” is the inscription that accompanies the photo of the four members together.
However, there are not only happy reactions. The four will compete for Team Europe and will face the Rest of the World Team: the latter is made up of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and Diego Schwartzman, the Argentine did not take very well the idea of facing the four monsters of tennis and He reacted like this on Twitter.
