WhatsApp does not stop working on new tools. If just a few weeks ago I shared the arrival of Communities, now the application reports the launch of reactionsa new tool -available from today by updating the ‘app’-, which allows the user to use emoticons to react to the messages he receives.

“We are delighted to announce that emoji reactions are now available in the latest version of the app. Reactions are fun, fast, and also reduce message overload in groups. In the future, we will continue to improve this function and add many more expressions, “says WhatsApp in its
corporate blog
.

Thanks to this functionality, all user reactions via emoticons may be collected at the bottom of the message in question, something similar to what happens on social networks like Facebook.

Larger files and groups

WhatsApp also informs that, thanks to the new update, users will be able to start send files by ‘app’ up to 2 GB at onceand with the protection of end-to-end encryption, which means that the information is only visible to the sender and receiver of the message, never to the messaging application.

“This increases the previous limit, which was 100 MB. We believe that it will be of great help to improve collaboration between small businesses and school groups, ”explains the social network. It also recommends the use of a network WiFi to send the largest files. Another novelty is that now, in addition, you will be able to see a counter while you download or upload files, to know how long it takes for the operation to finish.

Finally, WhatsApp states that it is working to further increase the number of contacts that can be part of a group. This improvement, which, for the moment, does not have a release date, will allow the limit to grow to 512 people.
