For German NFL fans, the game between the Panthers and the Giants in Munich is the highlight of the season. However, there is a hail of ridicule from the USA.
Munich – The first quarter of the Munich Game between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants was not yet over when the first malicious voices began to be heard. But it wasn’t the German fans who complained, but US fans who spoke up, sometimes with drastic words. They seem to want to ship the two teams to Germany for the entire season.
NFL in Munich: Reactions to the Munich Game between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants
At the first NFL guest game in Munich in 2022, quarterback Tom Brady himself was a guest with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, two years later, the German audience has to put up with Daniel Jones (Giants) and Bryce Young (Panthers) – to the amusement of American football fans.
But some people didn’t want to miss the game, even if it was with a dash of self-loathing. “Pray for me,” one asked Xuser after calling “getting up at 6 a.m. (note: due to the time difference) to watch Giants vs. Panthers” the “most sadistic thing I’ve done in a long time.”

US fans keep their fingers crossed for German NFL spectators in Munich
The Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants don’t seem to be missed much in the USA. But in addition to malice and ridicule, one or two Americans also have pity for the German fans.
The “NFL hates Germany” was commented on more often on social media by US fans – due to the rather unattractive pairing. Some wish the German spectators in the stadium luck that the teams would present themselves a little better than in the previous season.
Carolina Panthers and New York Giants disappointing so far in the NFL season
While some part-time NFL viewers of the Carolina Panthers may still be thinking about the Super Bowl final in February 2015, times have now changed. The Panthers, like their opponent Giants, have no hope of a successful season this season.
The Carolina team was in second-to-last third place in the NFC South before the game in Munich, with three wins and seven losses in ten games. Things looked even worse for the Giants. Eight defeats and two wins mean they are in last place in the NFC East. But German fans shouldn’t care which teams the NFL sends Either way, the run for tickets is unbroken. (sch)
