“Reach 1,000 goals”: Cristiano Ronaldo sets himself a new goal

Al-Nassr’s star in the Saudi Arabian League, Cristiano Ronaldo said on Wednesday that his main goal before his retirement is to reach 1,000 goals in his career professional and giving rise to the possibility that he could have a couple more years of performance in football.

In an interview with former England centre-back Rio Ferdinand on his newly launched YouTube channel, Cristiano Ronaldo confessed that he wants to continue breaking records, including the round figure of 900 goals, which he is just one goal away from, and then set the next goal of 1,000 goals.

The best mark I can have in football is to reach, first, 900 goals and then, my challenge is to reach 1000 goals.“, he commented.

Characterized by his competitiveness and true to his character, Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have no immediate goal of leaving football, in which he still stands out not only in Al-Nassr but also in the Portugal national team with the recently disputed Euro 2024.

In the middle of the conversation Ronaldo also dared to joke about other footballers who supposedly scored many goals in their careers.such as Pelé or Alfredo Di Stefano, but several goals were subsequently deducted due to lack of evidence.

In the midst of the comparison, the former Real Madrid player pointed out that these characters are far removed from him because each of his goals has a video in the current era in which we live.

“There is a difference. All the goals I’ve scored have video, so I can prove (that I scored them). Equal respect to all of them,” he added.

For now, the new 2024-2025 season has started well for Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring in the semi-final and final of the Saudi Arabian Super Cup, as well as in Al-Nassr’s first two local league games.
