From October 11 to 24, 21,000 Gard businesses are called to vote to re-elect the Services college of the CCI Gard, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Faced with outgoing president Éric Giraudier, who has been put behind and who wants to regain his place, Philippe Broche hopes to reverse the trend.
Since last June, Éric Giraudier has no longer been president of the CCI Gard. He has been replaced by Fabien Dorocq since the Toulouse Court of Appeal confirmed the cancellation of the election of the service college. His team is accused of sending SMS messages after the official end of the campaign as well as photos of elected officials in its electoral propaganda who had not given their authorization. It was his opponent Philippe Broche who took the matter to court.
And if in front of the press, the two men manage to contain themselves, behind the scenes they wage a merciless war. This Monday, each in turn, the two candidates brought together the local media. It must be said that the campaign is in full swing since it is necessary to once again elect the 20 elected representatives of the service college who will be in place until 2026, the end of the mandate. Around 21,000 companies, or 2,000 more than in 2021, are asked to choose between these two lists from October 11 to 24.
An appeal filed against Philippe Broche’s list
Each camp therefore sets out again on a crusade and on Eric Giraudier’s side we like to recall a mathematical fact. “With the Industry and Commerce services, we have 35 seats so the majority is acquired. So it is a person from this list who will be elected president, it cannot be otherwise”, assures the head of the list who has clearly announced his desire to regain his place. Obviously on the other side, we want to do better than the two seats obtained in the first vote.

“The objective is to win the 20 seats, enthuses Philippe Broche, we hope to recompose a majority. » It remains to be seen whether some are ready to turn around. “I am very curious whether the candidate leading the list can be authorized to run again”, says the Bagnolais who is banking on a return to basics with his “Cœur gardois” list. The former president prefers to recall his results and discuss new projects including the famous Company House which is progressing well. “There is no question of destroying it”confirms and signs Philippe Broche in the event of coming to power.
No frontal attacks but an appeal filed this time by Giraudier’s team which contests the territorial distribution of the opposing team deeming seven candidates ineligible. A letter was sent to the prefecture pointing out the presentation of five candidates on the Alès delegation and eight on that of Bagnols, which would not be in accordance with the economic weight of the department. The election rules stipulate that three are required. Each candidate has their interpretation: for Giraudier it is three and no more, for Broche it is three at least.
“This economic weighing corresponds to nothing”
“This has no legal value. This economic weighing does not correspond to anything. The Gard Rhodanien with nuclear power represents as many employees as the Nîmes basin. We would have already been arrested, what he says is his own responsibility”, contests Philippe Broche who is banking on this territorial distribution with eight new names on the list. Changes to represent all of Gard but also the loss of Élise Feja who left Broche’s list for that of Giraudier. With the head of the list, she was the other elected official from “Cœur Gardois” which therefore had two seats out of 55.

With his substitute, Éric Giraudier has integrated three new ones including the former raseteur Hadrien Poujol. Among the personalities present on his list, Steeve Calligaro, president of the Rugby Club Nîmes, André Hess, director of Sada Assurances and even Mr. cinema Evrard Zaouche, boss of the CGR in Nîmes. What gives hope to the Gard Rhodanien candidate is that in November 2021, the overall gap was only around a hundred votes. But the participation rate was very low with only 12% only on the college service.
“Already for a classic election, mobilization is not easy. This is even more complicated.”, recognizes Éric Giraudier. In total, the CCI Gard represents nearly 46,000 companies in our department.
