Kochi: RDO has imposed a partial ban on drama in Cochin Carnival. The play ‘Governor and Hat’ is banned. The Fort Kochi RDO ordered that the play should not use the word Governor anywhere, there should be no reference to central and state governments, speech, costume, religious matter etc. The action was taken following a complaint by the BJP’s Mattanchery constituency committee.
This was a play that was to be performed on Friday. The presenters were Natak Kochi region. At the same time, Natak Kochi regional committee officials responded that they cannot change the name of the play or change the content and they are trying to present the play in the next few days after seeking the permission of the government.
