The Sang et Ors continue their momentum and seem unstoppable! Lens qualified for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France on Wednesday, beating Nantes 4-2.
The defeat of Nantes was accentuated by the ousting of Raymond Domenech, after a series of 15 games without a win in the league. The team is now barrage.
RC Lens, very close to European places
Surprisingly promoted and now very close to European places in Ligue 1, the Lensois offered an offensive festival under the leadership of Corentin Jean, author of a double, just like the Nantes native Kader Bamba.
However, it was the Nantes Canaries who opened the scoring with a strike from Kader Bamba, found alone at the penalty spot by a center behind Randal Kolo Muani (1-0, 24th). But Lens very quickly equalized on a similar movement, with a cross from Jonathan Clauss cut by Corentin Jean (1-1, 27 ‘).
The Sang et Or then took off with a cross shot from Cheick Doucouré at the entrance to the area (1-2, 36th), a beautiful cross shot from Jean, launched in the back of Nicolas Pallois (1-3, 39th), and a strike from Arnaud Kalimuendo, well served by Jean (1-3, 58th).
The addition could have been heavier without several saves from Nantes goalkeeper Denis Petric or the crossbar which repelled a strike from Tony
Mauritius (44e).
A victory which delighted the fans, and which should also delight Raphaël Varane, who had said he was delighted with the Sang et Or season during an interview with the JT of France 3 Nord Pas-de-Calais on Monday.
