In a melting Stade Bollaert, RC Lens snatched victory against Inter Milan in a warm-up match on Saturday (1-0).
Two months after the crazy Ligue 1 final against Monaco (2-2), Stade Bollaert-Delelis has regained its RC Lens and the Sang et Or public did not fail to ignite the preparation meeting against Inter Milan on Saturday evening. Franck Haise’s men just won at the end of the game!
Arriving 7th in the championship, the northern team played this friendly match like a European match. Seko Fofana, still Lensois (unlike Jonathan Clauss), was untenable against the Nerazzurri, but Igniatius Ganago and Florian Sotoca did not have a real opportunity.
Simone Inzaghi had lined up her standard team with the exception of her two attacking stars Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku. The latter have just appeared on the field for the last half hour of play, without managing to deceive Brice Sambavery good in his goals.
Openda enters and marks
This is Loïs Apenda, the Belgian striker recruited for 10 million euros, who gave victory to RC Lens on a corner kick from Jimmy Cabot, another rookie (90th). Much to the delight of the northern public.
Lens ends its pre-season against West Ham next weekend, still at Bollaert, before starting the L1 against Brest, at home.
