Berlin RBLZ_Lena is the first woman to appear in the Virtual Bundesliga. The e-athlete from RB Leipzig made her debut on the last day of the regular season.

Premiere in the Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship: With Lena “RBLZ_Lena” Güldenpfennig, an e-athlete has played in the top German FIFA league for the first time. The RB Leipzig player played doubles against TSG Hoffenheim and 1. FC Nürnberg.

“I had a lot of fun,” said RBLZ_Lena after her debut in the live stream of the Virtual Bundesliga. Although both duels with duo partner Daniel “RBLZ_Fehrminator” Fehr were lost, the 19-year-old convinced with a strong performance and two goals. The games were of little importance. The Leipzig team had already secured the championship title of the south-east division the week before.

In addition to the Saxons, the team from 1. FC Heidenheim could also cheer. The Baden-Württemberg team secured second place in the south-east division and thus qualification for the final tournament.

In the north-west division, VfL Bochum was able to secure the title on Tuesday – despite a 3-6 defeat on points in the last game of the season against VfL Wolfsburg. The race for second place was exciting: Here, 1. FC Köln was able to push past FC St. Pauli at the last moment. While Cologne got nine out of 18 points from their last two games, the Kiezkicker only got five points. This means that the billy goats are sure to make it to the championship finals.

Which teams will still be in the final tournament will be decided in the coming week (16 and 17 March) at the playoffs known as “Final Chance”. Here the clubs in places three to six in both divisions compete against each other. FC St. Pauli, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg have qualified from the north-west. From the south-east, FC Augsburg, TSG Hoffenheim, 1. FC Nürnberg and Hertha BSC are there.

The biggest surprise of the north-west division is Werder Bremen. The reigning champions finished the season in tenth place – and thus missed the final tournament for the championship.
